Skyways - the story of post-war passenger aviation at Lympne Airport

Our first talk held in our new venue at All Saints Church, Stanford, was by Betty Black, about the post-war history of Skyways and Lympne Airport.

It was fascinating to see the scope of the airport, and the area that it once occupied, and to see photos of those who once worked there, and to hear their back stories.

Thankfully there was only one crash during the time that Skyways was operating from Lympne, and only three people had to go to hospital.

We were also pleased to have a couple of people in the audience who also had connections with Skyways and Lympne Airport, and to be able to talk to them about their memories.

Thank you to everyone who attended, and especially to Betty for her time and engaging talk.
